Canadian online retailer Future Shop has started pre-orders for a Nintendo DS bundle which includes Brain Age 2 and a new crimson and black colored DS Lite. Since the only place this has popped up is Future Shop, we're not really sure if this is only for sale as a bundle or Canada-exclusive. The bundle, which sells for 159.99 CDN, will release on August 20. [Future Shop]

If you like tinkering with the inner working of gadgets as well as the Nintendo DS Lite, have I got a sweet project for you. Instructables has instructions on how to make a homemade RumblePak for the DS Lite that fits nicely inside the GBA cartridge slot on the bottom of the device. It's not for people who haven't cracked open and fiddled with stuff before, as you'll be, you know, building your own cartridge, but how satisfying will that first rumble be if you pull it off? Ren and Stimpy was one of the greatest and most twisted "kid's shows" ever put to air, and it greatly shaped my sense of humor growing up. I owe a lot to John K., the animation genius and general mad scientist behind the show, which is why I totally love his new ad for Comcast Triple Play and their free Nintendo DS promotion. It's got all the marks of a John K. production: crazy, 50's style voice over, gross close-ups, unsettling characters, and a wicked sense of humor. Heck, it's so good it almost makes me want to sign up for an overpriced TV, Internet, and phone package from a company with some of the worst customer service around. Almost. The new PSP, in technical terms, is fugly. The updated colors include the obligatory Piano Black, Ceramic White, Ice Silver, and then...Rose Pink, Lavender Purple and Felicia Blue—notice there's no Fireball Orange or Blood Red. Apparently the new PSP is a kinder, gentler machine with wussy casing that will operate in stark contrast to God of War flaming blade fatalities. Bonus back shot after the jump.
It's like my sister put Barbie's clothes on my He-Man. It works for the Nintendo DS, but on the Sony PSP these colors are just troubling. [sony via kotaku]

In addition to having the fantastic Wii Party Station, Nyko also had a bunch of other accessories for all three consoles. First, a wireless Xbox 360 Guitar Hero guitar, which is still in the prototype stage and may not even make it to market. Their guitar may hit a whole three months sooner than the official Guitar Hero III wireless guitar, but there are a couple caveats. One, you need a wired controller to hook the whole thing up.

Instead of using the default Microsoft wireless controller scheme, which Microsoft's still being stingy about, Nyko's gone and made their own. It requires an adapter box (included), and a wired controller (it can be a regular controller or even a wired Guitar Hero guitar) to be plugged in while in use. The good news is that all the functions, including whammy and tilt star power actually works.
Nyko's still not sure on the price or whether they want to bring it to market at all, since th...

Greetings irrational fanboys and Apple haters! Ten days and 12,000 words later, our stone-cold look at what it means to own an iPhone is done. Before we get to the in depth hands-on, here's the verdict I'd give any good friend: Wait to buy the iPhone.
Wait for What?
Wait until Apple updates the software on this iPhone. That was a hard sentence to write, since I'm thumbing through my own iPhone like a teenager with his first Playboy. This is what the phone of the future will look like, and Steve Jobs and Apple should be proud. iPhone of 2010 aside, this model must be judged on what it is today. Like every other journalist will tell you, its multitouch UI, browser and iPod are all pants-worthy. But as the honeymoon sets, I find myself left with a phone that could be a lot more functional. I could make comparisons to high-end Nokia or Helio phones that have endless lists of wonderful features like GPS, YouTube video uploading and more. But only a douchebag would tackle the ...

It seems that Nintendo have developed a camera for its DS system - although it will not be built-in to the portable console. Gaming company Intelligent Systems is developing a game called Adult Face Training, which teaches people the discipline of facial exercises. And do you know what? I think this one is for the lay-deez...
Adult Face Training, or Otona no DS Kao Training, as it is known in Japan, is being endorsed by facial exercise guru Fumiko Inudo. It is expected to come in packaging very similar to the kind of stuff that make-up comes in. As well as the camera, which connects to the DS's GBA port, the game will come with a stand that you prop the Nintendo up on, making it look like a mirror.
This game, launching in August, won't just attract the better sex, though. I'm looking forward to the Wi-Fi gurning competitions that will no doubt become crazy-popular as soon as it launches, and the sight of suited and booted men throwing crazy face-aches on the subway eac...

While some have already taken their own initiative to give the Nintendo DS a camera, it looks like the rest of us will soon have a considerably easier go of it, as Nintendo's set to release its own camera for the handheld, along with a game to take full advantage of it. The game, Face Training, is designed to aid you in the practice of "facening," Wired News reports, which supposedly improves your appearance through a series of facial exercises. Likely of more interest to most however, is the camera itself, which takes advantage of DS's GBA slot, with a stand also provided to give your arms a rest. Unfortunately, there's no word on any other uses for the camera just yet, although it would seem unlikely that it'd be reserved for just one game. Look for the game and camera bundle to set you back ¥4,800 ($39) when it hits Japan (and Japan only) on August 2nd.
