We like devices such as the M3 Perfect for loading DS Roms and homebrew projects, but you can't really save data from actual DS games you might own. GameTech's upcoming USB dongle lets you upload game save files to your computer and use them as your please. Insert your DS cart into the dongle, the dongle into a USB port, and you can transfer away. Seems good if your cart has a faulty EEPROM or you want to share your game save with someone else. No word on pricing, but its coming out August 31 and something tells me its exclusive to Japan. [GameBrink]

Those looking to be a little more selective in the Nintendo DS-related media they transfer to and from their PC will soon have a new option from GameTech, which is set to release the above hardware/software combo in Japan on August 31st. While there unfortunately doesn't appear to be much more info than what you see on the box, the system seems to be straightforward enough, consisting a USB stick-sized device that'll accommodate your DS cart and some software (Windows only) that'll help you backup and manage your save game file...

The Magnum Chrome DS case is a mod for your Nintendo DS. Completely replacing the outer shell of your portable, the Magnum is actually covered in chrome, not some spray-on finish. This means your DS will be tougher and more resistant to those smudges that make us feel like pigs every time we just want to play some Mario Kart.

Installation is supposed to be reasonably easy, but since this mod only replaces the outer shell, you'll need to buy an inner shell for full transformation. And with each case approaching $40, you could quickly find yourself in new DS territory (just wash your hands before playing this time). [product via techiediva]

Recall that motion-sensing patent from the Big N just, oh, two days ago? Turns out that may have a thing or two to do with the recent slide controller accessory unveiled for the Japanese market. Bundled in with the game Slide Adventure: Mag Kid, the device plugs directly into the GBA cartridge slot of the DS / DS Lite and essentially allows you to set the handheld on a flat surface and slide around 'til your heart's content. ...

Canadian online retailer Future Shop has started pre-orders for a Nintendo DS bundle which includes Brain Age 2 and a new crimson and black colored DS Lite. Since the only place this has popped up is Future Shop, we're not really sure if this is only for sale as a bundle or Canada-exclusive. The bundle, which sells for 159.99 CDN, will release on August 20. [Future Shop]

If you like tinkering with the inner working of gadgets as well as the Nintendo DS Lite, have I got a sweet project for you. Instructables has instructions on how to make a homemade RumblePak for the DS Lite that fits nicely inside the GBA cartridge slot on the bottom of the device. It's not for people who haven't cracked open and fiddled with stuff before, as you'll be, you know, building your own cartridge, but how satisfying will that first rumble be if you pull it off?
Ren and Stimpy was one of the greatest and most twisted "kid's shows" ever put to air, and it greatly shaped my sense of humor growing up. I owe a lot to John K., the animation genius and general mad scientist behind the show, which is why I totally love his new ad for Comcast Triple Play and their free Nintendo DS promotion. It's got all the marks of a John K. production: crazy, 50's style voice over, gross close-ups, unsettling characters, and a wicked sense of humor. Heck, it's so good it almost makes me want to sign up for an overpriced TV, Internet, and phone package from a company with some of the worst customer service around. Almost.

The new PSP, in technical terms, is fugly. The updated colors include the obligatory Piano Black, Ceramic White, Ice Silver, and then...Rose Pink, Lavender Purple and Felicia Blue—notice there's no Fireball Orange or Blood Red. Apparently the new PSP is a kinder, gentler machine with wussy casing that will operate in stark contrast to God of War flaming blade fatalities. Bonus back shot after the jump.

It's like my sister put Barbie's clothes on my He-Man. It works for the Nintendo DS, but on the Sony PSP these colors are just troubling. [<a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=ht...

The game, Face Training, is designed to aid you in the practice of "facening," Wired News reports, which supposedly improves your appearance through a series of facial exercises.
